BBTC Leaders Retreat 2015 Preparation

Facilitators Training

Bethesda (Bedok-Tampines) Church (BBTC) Leaders Retreat

Strengthening Leaders

Dedicated to developing strong disciple makers, BBTC is putting close to 250 leaders through a 3-day leadership retreat where they will learn how to lead effectively with their natural talents.  Leveraging on the Clifton StrengthFinder 2.0, leaders will understand how to build on their talents, mitigate their weaknesses, and how to best perform their respective roles.  They will learn about building strong interdependent teams and how to position members to that they perform out of their areas of strength.

2-Day Facilitators Workshop

Retreat Preparation

To prepare for the 3-day Leaders Retreat, we trained around 40 specially selected individuals to be facilitators on 17 & 18 Jan 2015.  These facilitators went through a customised 2-day workshop to familiarise them with the materials and introduce them to some basic coaching skills.

Facilitators were given additional skill-building exercises after the workshop, and will under-go a booster session before the actual retreat.

3-Day BBTC Leaders' Retreat

StrengthsFinder - Finding Strengths In Deep Foundations

We completed a massively successful Leadership Retreat in 19-21 Mar 2015 at Renaissance Hotel Johor Bahru, with an attendance of about 220 pax.  We covered great breath and depth using StrengthsFinder, helping everyone to discover what their strengths are, how to use it effectively, and how to build strengths-based teams.

We started off with Strengths Discovery, helping everyone to name, claim and aim their talent themes.  After that we dived into working with each other in our teams, and how to position each other in places of strengths in what we do. Finally we gave everyone the time to map out their strategies to grow their leadership base and put those into action after the retreat.

Personally, the highlight for me was the ability of Daniel Foo, the Senior Pastor of BBTC, to link back strengths so clearly and succinctly in a church context.

It has been an extremely enjoyable and enriching experience partnering with BBTC for their retreat, and I’m sure many people have walked away transformed and excited to bring this to their own team members.
