About Serving with Strengths
“Serving with Strengths” focused on using our strengths to make an impact on the community. We do so by providing training and workshops to non-profit organisations and their volunteers to develop them and expand their capacity and effectiveness in helping people. Part of the StrengthsFinder Singapore Network, the workshops are largely based on the StrengthsFinder 2.0 tool.
Why we serve?
Our talents are the gift that God gives to us…
What we make of our talents is our gift back to God.
– Leo Buscaglia
We believe that the talents given to us are not meant just for personal benefit but also for the benefit of the community and those around us. There’s no better way to develop our talents into strengths than by serving the community, and no better way to serve the community than by helping it discover and grow in it’s strengths.
Serving Strategically
Many non-profit organisations usually have 2 key needs:
- Having a stable group or pipeline of volunteers
- Being able to equip volunteers to serve well
We aim to provide a set of programs where we can help to both attract and retain volunteers. We do this by providing workshops for the development of the volunteers and build greater team work within the group.
Target Audience
To maximise impact and resources, we will work with non-profit organisations rather than individual volunteers. This is to create an eco-system within the organisation where volunteers can thrive, leading to longer term impact and sustainability.

Workshops
We aim to provide a suite of workshops for non-profit organisations at ridiculously low cost. We would love to be able to provide this pro-bono, but that would make this effort unsustainable.
Strengths Discovery Workshop
All change begins with self, and self-awareness is the key. Participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery and learn about how to develop their innate talents into productive strengths. Using the StrengthsFinder 2.0 Assessment, participants will gain insights into their natural patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviour and learn how to direct them towards useful outcomes – better work performance, better relationships, higher energy and engagement at what they do. They will discover that their weaknesses are linked to their strengths, and be given strategies to mitigate weakness.
Building Strengths-Based Teams
As a follow-up to the Strengths Discovery Workshop, participants will now learn about the different stages of team development how to manage key tasks around the team’s strengths and weaknesses. This is a time of fostering team bonding and understanding, leading greater team work and team efficiency.
