In this eCourse, you will learn how to use a CliftonStrengths Top 5 Strengths Report to start a meaningful career performance review with your staff.

Like real training wheels you can use this process until you find your own leadership “centre of balance”. Your direct reports want to feel that their boss “gets” them, and your staffs’ top 5 strengths get us started. After a typical strengths awareness discussion, the supervisor takes staff through these 4 steps toward building soft-skill competency goals for the upcoming year.

This process can then be repeated in subsequent years to refine the goals and measure outcomes. But, the first step is to help staff visualize their own career and set near term goals to get there. By repeating the process in subsequent years staff can translate their growing clarity about their career goals into more meaningful competency goals. And in the process, supervisors have become a trusted mentor.

This process is ultimately about employee engagement. An engaged staff will be more loyal, more connected to corporate goals and less likely to seek employment with another firm.
