I had the pleasure and honour of setting up Singapore’s very first and only StrengthsFinder Meetup Group, now affectionately known as the StrengthsFinder Singapore Network.

Our sessions are held once a month, with a humble turnout of about 8-12 pax each time.  This allows for a more intimate discussion and
in-depth discussion.

What is the value of joining a meetup group in your area?

Firstly, you get to meet like minded people and network.

Secondly, you get to really discover what all these talent themes look like and understand how different people function.  Every talent theme is unique because of the dynamics between all the dominant themes you have.  So even if you find people with the same talent themes, it is likely to look somewhat different from your own.

Thirdly, you get a safe environment to really explore and discover your own strengths.  This really helps you appreciate your own strengths and gives you the confidence to build on it instead of your weaknesses.

Fourthly, it is free (or low-cost) group coaching!  Naturally, you can’t expect to have the same level of depth in a one-to-one coaching session, but these sessions are really valuable if you participate and learn.  The relationships and networks can also be extremely invaluable!

I have received some very good testimonials from the participants, here’s one:

“…An extremely useful tool, StrengthsFinder has been helping me look at myself from a different perspective with relation to my life, career and family. For instance, knowing my strengths has helped me understand how I would be able to fit in different situations at work and has saved me from a lot of time and frustration in trial and error.”

So if you have a meet-up in your area, what’s stopping you from attending?
