I came across this really nice explanation of the Hero’s Journey by Joseph Campbell, and I think it really speaks of hearing the calling in our lives, and embarking on the journey to answer it.
Take some time to think about your own journey. Is there’s a call waiting for you to answer?
“The Cave You Fear to EnterLies the Treasure you seek.”
Because of some transitions that I’m going through myself, I’ve come face-to-face with a few very key questions: What is the cause that I’m pursuing? What is my purpose / mandate?
I believe the call is always related to our purpose, and when we are aligned to our purpose and we answer the call, a few things happen:
- You draw others with the same cause to yourself.
When we take the brave step towards what we are called to do, we will find others with the same cause. Some others will see what you are doing and be inspired to team up with you. And there are few things that are more powerful than a team of people united with a common cause and vision. - You will attract the help and resources you need.
The courage to pursue your cause will be encouraging to others. Many will contribute and support your cause even if they may not decide to take the journey with you. - You will be scared, but you will also be transformed
“There is no growth in the comfort zone, and not comfort in the growth zone.” is one of the key tenants for Strategic Strengths Coaching. As you take the journey, there will be times of uncertainty, and at times, that will scare you. There’s no need to pretend to have it all together. Admit what you know, and what you don’t know, and move on in spite of it. If you truly have a cause to purpose, you can’t let what you don’t know stop you from achieving what you know you need to accomplish.
Is there a call waiting for you to answer? Perhaps, it is time to go on a journey…..
